Youth camp “Find your world” – Phase 2
Points of conflict and disunity
Christianity –
a slipshod religion?
Genrich (a Jewish boy)
“The Christians also have their rules, but they can change them themselves when they see fit.
That's not possible for us: our rules are God-given rules that can't be changed to fit the
circumstances. To my mind, Christianity is too lax.”
Igor (a Christian boy)
“In some ways, I think this reproach of laxness against our religion is justified, when,
for instance, the demand is made by the other religions that we take more seriously the
central ideas of our faith.”
Saskia (a Christian girl)
“I think that the Christian faith has its central principles that must be kept, love of
neighbour, for instance. But whether I go to church every Sunday, is something else.”
