Science is not for girls!
Your
chemistry teacher likes to make jokes about women, e.g. “Teflon – boys
think of spacecraft; girls think of frying-pans.” In class, he doesn’t
take the girls seriously: he gives the boys all his attention and ignores
the girls. The other day, a girl asked a question about something she had not
understood. Smirking, he replied: “What a stupid question! Typical!
Science is nothing for you women.” Some people laughed and the
poor girl turned red with embarrassment.
How would you react? And why?
I don't like it, but I keep still. I don't want to risk getting a bad mark.

I find it pretty funny. Girls have to put up with such things. In other classes they are the teacher's pets.

I find such behaviour really lousy for an adult. I'll report his anti-women jokes to our mentor or our principal.

I get really mad and stand up to tell him what I think - before the whole class. I don't care if he gives me a bad mark.

Such behaviour makes me sick. I'd like to do something, but I don't know what I can do. The teachers always have the upper hand.
