The “sustainable value approach” attempts to evaluate the sustainability of
corporation's way of doing business in monetary terms.
To that end, the sustainability performance of a corporation is measured by comparison to
• the resource efficiency of the line of business as a whole,
• the German domestic economy for the last years,
• the political goals for the year 2010.
