Corporate Citizenship (CC)

• Corporate citizenship refers to the contributions that corporations make to the society as a whole.

• Business firms often make contributions to the solution of concrete problems in the society, e.g. through
– monetary contributions and sponsoring,
– partnerships with educational, cultural and social institutions, public action groups, associations, other companies,
– financial and material support of special projects,
– providing know-how and temporary loan of personnel to specific projects (corporate volunteering).

• In Anglo-American usage, “Corporate Citizenship” (CC) is often equated with “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR). In Europe, by contrast, CSR is seen as going beyond CC.
