The level of the global economy: Horst Köhler

“A global economy needs global ethics, reflecting respect for human rights but equally recognition of personal and social responsibility. No matter what their religious convictions, people living together in local communities have always recognized and responded to common moral principles. I am convinced that a better world is possible, if we are willing to invest in better globalisation. Recent corporate scandals should remind us that there must be more to a market economy and entrepreneurship than profits alone. I share Professor Küng's view that there can be no survival of the globe without a global ethic.”
