Beside such forms of direct force/violence, various forms of indirect violence
are distinguished, e.g. structural pressure, economic pressure, cultural pressure,
which also produce such negative effects.
Force/violence can also be used, however, to impede negative effects on people,
e.g. by the military peace missions of the UN.
In the present context, force/violence means primarily using direct means
to exercise
a negative influence on another person. Such means can be of a psychological
(verbal abuse, threat, intimidation) or of a physical nature.
