The awakening and renewal of the Church

of the Institute for Ecumenical Research in Tübingen.
Along the lines of the Council, Hans Küng works for reform within the Church, for Christian Ecumenism and for an opening up to the world religions.
The Catholic Church’s insistence on papal infallibility and the controversial
birth-control encyclical
“Humanae vitae” of Pope Paul VI. led Hans Küng to initiate
the critical inquiry “Infallible?”.
